Brent Finnegan will kickoff his campaign for Delegate of Virginia’s 26th House District Saturday at the former Plan B Cafe in Broadway, just a few blocks from where he grew up.
“I feel a deep connection to this area. This campaign will include the entire 26th district, and reflect the values, hopes, and concerns of people in both Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County,” Finnegan said.
“I’ve spent most of my life serving the people of this district. I’ve produced documentaries about local issues. I founded and ran a local news website for five years. I was a grassroots organizer with the Bernie Sanders campaign, which won in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County last year. And in my job at the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services, I work with local educators and health professionals on grants to reduce drug abuse in our community, to reduce teen pregnancies, and to support rural community health workers.
“I’m committed to continuing to serve the people of the 26th district; to stand up for fairness and liberty, and to support thriving local communities. I believe that we deserve a legislature that reflects those values, and that won’t happen so long as special interest money is controlling the agenda in Richmond. I’m taking a stand against the corrupting influence of special interest PACs in order to serve the people of the Valley.
